Spirit of the Game

E.R.I.C. teaches kids the fundamentals of Spirit of the Game.

Spirit of the Game is what puts Ultimate aside from all other sports.

It is a deliberate and consistent behavior exhibited by players worldwide. It includes knowing the rules (Ultimate is a self-refereed sport); body awareness (Ultimate is a non-contact sport); a positive attitude (have fun, it is a game!); fair-mindedness (the only way self-officiating can succeed); as well as respectful communication (conflict resolution at its best).

Spirit of the Game places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Players are accountable. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play.

Spirit of the Game

E.R.I.C. is one of the main drivers behind the International Spirit of the Game Day and promotes Spirit wherever they go.
